about tempos

Shirley Tempos is Elon University's newest all-female a cappella group consisting of 15 talented girls who love to sing and spend time together! When Tempos aren't goofing around at rehearsal, recording in the studio, or performing at their end-of-semester concerts, they perform regularly at gigs on and off campus. Despite being a relatively young group, they have performed at Carnegie Hall in NYC as well as competed in this years' ICCAs competition in Athens, Georgia.

In August of 2020, Shirley Tempos released their first ever album, "Still Rising", with songs ranging from Still Feel by half alive, Watch by Billie Eilish, Blame it on the Boogie by Micheal Jackson, and more!

Later this semester, the Shirley Tempos plan to get back into the recording studio to record more music, so stay tuned!

In Fall 2016, the Tempos hosted the first ever Acapocolypse -- a concert benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill. The second Acapocalypse was held in fall of 2017 and benefitted Camp Sunshine, a camp which provides hope and support for children with life threatening illnesses. Our third annual Acapocalypse was held in fall of 2018 and benefitted Elon Academy. In 2019, 2021, and 2022 our Acapocalypse also benefitted Elon Academy. We are proud to say we sold out our most recent Acapocalypse: Nightmare in Neverland.
